FAQs

What are FSA and HSA accounts?

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are programs that allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses.

If you’re unsure whether or not you have an HSA or FSA account, please check with your employer or insurance company.

Are FED Fitness products eligible for HSA/FSA payments?

All products in this collection are eligible for HSA/FSA payment through our partner, Truemed.

Depending on the product, a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) may be required to establish medical eligibility.

Look for the HSA/FSA eligibility labels on each product listing to determine whether an LMN is required for your purchase.

What is the difference between "HSA/FSA Eligible" and "HSA/FSA Eligible with LMN"?

The difference is whether a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is required.

- HSA/FSA Eligible: Products that may qualify for HSA/FSA payment without an LMN, subject to your plan's eligibility requirements.
- HSA/FSA Eligible with LMN: Products that may qualify for HSA/FSA payment when supported by an LMN from a licensed healthcare provider.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), and how is this compliant?

A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a document issued by an independent, licensed healthcare provider confirming that a specific product is medically necessary to treat, manage, or prevent a diagnosed health condition.

Under IRS guidelines, certain health and fitness-related purchases may qualify as medical expenses when they are medically necessary and supported by appropriate documentation.

Through our partner, Truemed, customers can complete a health assessment reviewed by an independent, licensed healthcare provider. If the provider determines that a purchase meets the medical necessity requirements, an LMN may be issued to support the use of HSA/FSA funds.

This process is designed to align with applicable IRS requirements. However, eligibility is determined on an individual basis, and final reimbursement decisions remain subject to your HSA/FSA plan administrator's rules.

How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?

Most Letters of Medical Necessity (LMNs) are issued within 2–5 hours. However, in some cases, Truemed's provider team may need additional time to review your individual health assessment and determine medical necessity.

If you don't see your LMN in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still can't find it, contact Truemed at support@truemed.com for assistance.

How do I purchase directly with an HSA or FSA card?

You can use your HSA/FSA card to pay for eligible purchases on FED Fitness, just like you would with a regular payment card. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Add your desired products to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  2. Select HSA/FSA Cards as your payment method.
  3. Click Pay with HSA/FSA to be redirected to Truemed, our third-party HSA/FSA payment provider.
  4. Enter your HSA/FSA card details on Truemed's payment page and complete your payment.

Can I pay with both an HSA/FSA card and a credit or debit card?

Yes! If your HSA/FSA balance doesn't cover the full purchase amount, you can pay the eligible portion with your HSA/FSA card and cover the remaining balance with a regular credit or debit card through Truemed's checkout process.
